Hiking Backpack Wanted

Posted on Aug 5th, 2007 by RebeccaRose : Wordsmithing Innergrowth Devotee RebeccaRose
Vaporkiback
Hello Friends I'm looking for a used womens' hiking backpack, in neutral colors, with the dimensions 22 x 14x 19 '' or a little smaller. With padded shoulderstraps, pockets and straps for my sleepingbag! A Granite Gear Vapor Ki would be ideal. I'm going on a long international trip and would love a backpack small enough that I don't have to check it at the airport! Willing to pay $50-100 for a used one, or to trade my womens' Kelty tornado 3800 backpack that I've only used twice! Thanks!

i have decided

Flower-picture-2
I have decided today
to patiently witness the fall of the
paradigm of destruction

I have decided
that the more I clench my fists in its face
the more bullets I cock into the gun aimed toward
the brown and white faces of
mothers and brothers and lovers and others

I have decided that the desire to pull down
the home of the greedy
takes life from me
it takes life from you

and if I step away
an to watch the screen of the inevitable
watch the harm that others create
watch it
come back and loop threads of harm upon itself
and not on me..

Then it will
eventually
crumble down
leaving me
free

I have decided to patiently witness the spread of ecstatic love for all
I have decided
that the desire to give and receive
equally to the abundance of growth of one another
that’s powerful
andd changes our experience every moment
l

I have decided today
to step into the inevitable
healing that bursts from our hearts to sew buttons
onto the sleeves of the buttonless
makes meals for the empty-bellied fly-faced babes in africa

and I have decided today
that our globe is destined for harmony
and that precious people who press their painful feet upon its planes
have the power
to actualize freedom and grow gardens of
liberation from anything other than
JOY
from anything other than joy
joy that can crack mountains in half and bring fruit to our thirsty lips and
place each person
in their own song of silent sacrament
joy that’s never to be shaken
joy that just grows and knows
how to hold hands
with even the most fearsome
and irate

and it’s here to stay not going away
it’s growing today

and I have decided today
I have decided today

to stop complaining
to step aside
and let it happen.

Where did your name come from?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 21, 2007:

My mom said that when she was pregnant with me she heard a little whisper: "Rebecca Amethyst, Rebecca Amethyst..." and she knew it was me, telling her what my name was. I've got a cool mom.

How can you get paid to do what you love?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 18, 2007:

Do what you love, and the money will come. I find this answer scary but true. As soon as I gave notice at my "job" I had more time to write, which is what I love. One week later, with no freelance writing experience, I met a woman who paid me pretty well to write her website. It can be done.

What's your greatest fear?

Posted on Apr 15th, 2007 by RebeccaRose : Wordsmithing Innergrowth Devotee RebeccaRose
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 15, 2007:

I'm afraid of methamphetamines. I'm afraid of what they do and how they so quickly steal a person's spirit and body. I'm scared that they'll take over. Becoming a bigger problem than they are now. I feel like meth is a huge epidemic that's a result of all the chemicals we've created and the pressure to remain alert & awake longer than our bodies are naturally willing. I can usually sense its presence even if a person isn't high, it feels like metal grinding on stone; the industrial smashing upon the natural world. I feel like I've found solutions for just about every issue but this one. It's a product of so many things in our society that we'd need to eliminate the incentive to do/make meth in order to eliminate meth itself. Ideas, anyone?
